Zelensky: Power outages for 6 million Ukrainians

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that electricity has been cut off from 6 million subscribers as a result of the Russian army’s targeting of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

He added, in a statement on his social media account, that efforts to repair the infrastructure are continuing, but the electricity supply continues to be cut off throughout the country.

He indicated that he had discussed with security officials the latest developments on all fronts fighting the Russians.

He pointed out that his country’s forces are analyzing the “intentions of the invaders” and preparing countermeasures against them.

Zelinsky appealed to the German government to send the Patriot air defense system to his country.

On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by international rejection and economic sanctions on Moscow, which requires Kyiv to abandon plans to join military entities to end its operation, which the latter considers an “interference” in its sovereignty.
