An international organization announced, on Sunday, that 92 children have been killed in Yemen since the beginning of this year, as a result of the war that the country has been witnessing since 2014.
This came in a statement issued by Save the Children (non-governmental / based in London), on the occasion of International Children’s Day, corresponding to November 20 of each year.
The statement stated, “Since the beginning of this year, until November 15, 92 children were killed as a result of the war in Yemen, and 242 others were injured.”
“Conflict in Yemen is escalating, with an average of one child killed or injured every day this year,” he added.

He continued, “On International Children’s Day, the children of Yemen demand that the warring parties commit themselves to preventing attacks and violence against civilians.”
The Yemen war began after the Houthis took control of the capital, Sana’a, and several provinces at the end of 2014, with the support of the forces of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was killed in 2017, in confrontations with the group’s militants, following the end of the alliance between them.
The conflict has escalated since March 2015, after an Arab military coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened to support the legitimate government forces in confronting the Iranian-backed Houthi group.
As of the end of 2021, the Yemen war has killed 377,000 people, directly and indirectly, according to the United Nations.
