Josep Borrell, head of European Union diplomacy, said in an interview today, Friday, that the European Union is investing more in Central Asian countries than Russia and China.
Borrell stressed that the European Union is the largest investor in Central Asia, and over the past 10 years, European Union countries have invested more than 105 billion euros in the region, which exceeds 40% of the total volume of foreign direct investment in Central Asia.
Borrell, who is participating today in Samarkand in an international conference on the interdependence between the European Union and Central Asia, added: “Without a doubt, we are the largest investors in Central Asia.”
The head of European diplomacy noted that the EU is ready to support Central Asia in providing access to the global Internet through satellite communications, managing water and energy resources, as well as building a green economy.
