Twitter owner Elon Musk said Thursday that the company has begun removing fake accounts.
“Twitter is currently getting rid of a lot of spam and fraudulent accounts,” Musk wrote in a tweet.
He explained that this measure will lead to “a decrease in the number of followers.”
And before completing the $ 44 billion Twitter purchase last October, Musk threatened to withdraw from the deal if the company did not disclose evidence showing that random and fake accounts constitute less than 5 percent of the number of users.
