About 900 million people in China have been infected with the coronavirus since January 11, according to research from Peking University.
The report estimates that 64 percent of the country’s population has contracted the virus. And this is even in areas that are in reasonable condition.
According to the report, 91 percent of people were infected in Gansu Province, in Yunnan Province 84 percent, and in Qinghai Province 80 percent. The top Chinese epidemiologist also warned that cases will increase in rural areas of China.
The peak of the Corona wave in China is expected to last from two to three months, according to Zeng Guang, former head of the Chinese Center for Disease Control.
