The Ghanaian national team managed to surprise its Swiss counterpart when it beat them 2-0 today, Thursday, in Abu Dhabi, in an international friendly match in preparation for the World Cup finals, which kicks off Sunday in Qatar.
The tie imposed itself until the 70th minute, when Southampton defender Mohamed Salisu gave the Black Stars the lead, before Bristol City striker Antoine Simeno added the second goal four minutes later.

Switzerland played the match in the absence of three players from its ideal squad, defenders Ricardo Rodriguez (Torino, Italy), Nico Elvedi (Borussia Mönchengladbach, Germany), and midfielder Gabriel So (Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany).

On the other hand, Ghana played in the absence of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.

Switzerland plays in the Qatar World Cup in Group G alongside Brazil, Cameroon and Serbia, while Ghana plays in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
