On Friday, the activities of the International Strategic Communication Summit “StartCom” kicked off, in its second edition, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The summit, which extends for two days and includes several seminars, is organized by the Presidency of the Communication Department in the Turkish Presidency, under the slogan “Strategic Communication in the Age of Uncertainty”.
The Anatolia correspondent reported the participation of more than 4,000 guests from inside and outside Turkey, as well as more than 50 local and international speakers participating in the summit activities.
The summit will be held at the “TİM” Convention Center in the “Maslak” region, and it will host platforms for the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, the Anadolu Agency, Turkish Airlines, and YouTube.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a video speech to the summit participants during the opening session.
The head of the Communications Department, Fakhruddin Altun, also spoke about the participation of more than 4,000 guests from inside and outside Turkey for the summit, which is witnessing more than 50 speakers from 24 countries.
He added, “I welcome all the attendees, and I wish the best for this summit.”
The summit, in its second edition, deals with strategic communication in an era of uncertainty, and speakers are experts, academics, leaders, representatives of the public and private sectors, and media specialists.
Among the topics raised at the summit are ways to confront media disinformation that confronts the average person, approaches to communication, digitization, and the exchange of experts in the field of media between yesterday and today.
As for the titles of the summit sessions, they are “Strategic Communication Based on the Changing World”, “Perception of the World According to New Data, A Stronger Communication Approach to the Citizen”, “The Cyber Front in Conventional Wars”, and “Traditional Media in the Post-Truth Era”.
After the opening session, which witnessed only two speeches by the head of the Communications Department, and the Turkish president, the dialogue sessions took place, in which speakers from Turkey and abroad participated.
The first edition of the summit was held on December 11, 2021 in Istanbul, with the participation of local and foreign experts.
