On Thursday, the US capital, Washington, witnessed the lighting of the traditional Christmas tree in front of the White House, in a ceremony attended by President Joe Biden and his family.
Anadolu correspondent reported that the tree was planted in Ellipse Park in front of the White House, and next to it are 56 small trees representing 50 US states and 5 other regions in addition to Washington DC.
As is the custom every year, the US President counted down the lighting of the tree.
The tree will be available to the general public until December 25, as an annual tradition followed since the era of the 32nd President of the United States, Franklin Roosevelt.
