Japan and Spain qualify for the round of 16 in the World Cup in Qatar

Japan and Spain qualified, on Thursday evening, for the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar, for Group E.

Japan topped the group with 6 points, after defeating Spain, which ranked second, with 4 points.

Spain qualified on goal difference from Germany, which also won 4 points, while Costa Rica bottomed the group standings with 3 points.

Japan will face Croatia, who qualified for Group F, in the final price round, while Spain will face Morocco, which leads the same group.

Although Germany outperformed Costa Rica in the last match of the group by 4 goals to 2, Japan’s surprising victory over Spain, with two goals to one, prevented it from continuing in the tournament.
