The German Football Association suspended Jurgen Klopp for one match due to an argument with the assistant referee in his team’s victory last month against Manchester City.
Klopp received a red card after a confrontation with the assistant referee in protest of not calculating a violation of Mohamed Salah in the last minutes of the 1-0 win over City on October 16 last.
Klopp, who later apologized for his behaviour, was initially fined 30,000 pounds ($35,487) after accepting a misconduct charge, but the FA appealed the penalty imposed by an independent commission.
“As a result of this, the Liverpool coach has been suspended and banned from being on the pitch for one match, with immediate effect, and he has been warned about his future actions,” the FA said in a statement.
