On Thursday, Lithuania announced that an employee of the Russian embassy had a “persona non grata” for “his involvement in activities incompatible with diplomatic status.”
“We have handed over the relevant diplomatic note to the representative of the Russian Embassy in Lithuania,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement indicated that on December 1, a representative of the Russian embassy in Lithuania was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, and handed a note announcing that its employee was “persona non grata in the country for engaging in activities contrary to the diplomatic situation,” without mentioning the employee’s name.
The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry also demanded that the Russian embassy employee leave the country within 5 days.
