Brazil kicked off its participation in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, with a convincing victory over its counterpart Serbia, with two clean goals, on Thursday, at Lusail Stadium, in Group G competitions.
The Brazilian national team started the match attacking and tried to penetrate the Serbian defense, relying on the speed of Vinicius Junior and Rafinha, in addition to Neymar’s annoying movements in depth.
On the other hand, the Serbian national team expected the Brazilian start and took a defensive position that forced the “Seleção” to go to individual solutions and shoot from afar, without posing the necessary danger to score the giant Sergey Milinkovic.
After a negative first half, the Brazilian national team increased its attacking coordination and Rafinha missed a great opportunity to score in the first minutes of the second half, then Alex Sandro tried his luck with a shot from afar, which was hit by the left post of the Serbian goal at the 59th minute.

The continuous Brazilian pressure exploded with a first goal in the 62nd minute, which came as a result of a ball shot by Vinicius, before Milinkovic tackled it, and it bounced back to Richarlison, who did not hesitate to deposit it easily.
The Brazilian goal drove the Serbs out of their defensive areas in an effort to adjust, but Richarlison appeared again and scored a very impressive goal after he received a ball from Vinicius, who set it up brilliantly for himself, then turned around himself and hit a scissor that hit the goal in the 73rd minute.
And at a time when Serbia was expected to search for a way back, the “Seleção” continued its advantage and almost consolidated its progress on more than one occasion, but luck and the lack of international experience for some elements kept the result the same until the end.
With this, Brazil topped the group standings with 3 points, ahead of Switzerland, who beat Cameroon 1-0 on goal difference.
