The Netherlands national team, accompanied by Senegal, reached the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, after the first victory over Qatar, the tournament organizer, with two goals without a response, and the second over Ecuador with two goals to one, on Tuesday, in the closing round of the first group competitions.
The Dutch national team entered the “Al-Bayt” stadium with a strong motivation to win the three points after a victory over Senegal and a draw against Ecuador, while “Al-Annabi” was present to present an honorable performance that concluded its first participation in the history of the World Cup after receiving two defeats and confirming its exit from the tournament.
The “Mills” team imposed an advantage that resulted in a first goal, which came in the 26th minute of an organized attack, which Davy Claassen finished with an assist to Cody Jakobo, who put it into the net of Meshaal Barshim with a smart shot.
And everything remained the same in a mid-level match until the 49th minute, which saw the Netherlands add a second goal after a ball shot by Memphis Depay, which Barshim saved, before returning to Frenkie Deong, who easily followed it into the goal.
