French coach Hervé Renard, coach of the Saudi national team, decided to include Mohammed Al-Buraik instead of Yasser Al-Shahrani in the upcoming “Al-Akhdar” match against Poland, due to the latter’s injury.
And the Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiah, reported, on Friday, that Renard is preparing to include Al-Buraik, defender of Al-Hilal Club, in the match with Poland in the second round, due to the impossibility of the presence of Al-Shahrani, who underwent surgery after the severe injury he suffered last Tuesday in the opening match against Argentina.
Al-Shahrani had fallen on the field after accidentally colliding with fellow goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais, which necessitated his exit from the field and his transfer directly to the hospital.
The Saudi national team’s confrontation with its Argentine counterpart ended with a historic victory for “Al-Akhdar” with two goals to one, after which it topped the group with 3 points, while Poland and Mexico occupy the second and third places with a point each after their goalless draw in the first round.
