The Russian Federal Security Service announced, on Thursday, that it had thwarted an attack by Ukrainian intelligence on the “South Stream” gas pipeline.
The security service said in a statement that “Russian citizens involved in the preparation and support of a terrorist act have been detained,” according to the state agency, Tass.
The statement added: “4 magnetic mines, 4 kilograms of plastite, 593,000 rubles, and means of communication containing correspondence and negotiations with Ukrainian intelligence and instructions for assembling and installing an explosive device, as well as information on money transfer and coordinates of the explosion site in Volgograd region, were confiscated.”
