Russia: Ukraine's Peace Summit Proposal an 'U.S. PR Campaign'

On Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry considered Ukraine’s proposal to hold a “peace summit” as an American PR campaign.

“Washington is trying to portray the Kyiv administration as a peacekeeping force,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a press conference in the capital, Moscow.

She added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently signed a decree banning negotiations with the Russian side.

Since February 24, Russia has launched a military attack in its neighbor Ukraine, prompting capitals, led by Washington, to impose severe economic sanctions on Moscow.

Regarding Russia’s relations with Turkey, Zakharova said that the two countries have a deep dialogue.
