Shantop: Meets the Prime Minister of North Macedonia

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Mustafa Şentop, met with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovačevski, in the capital, Skopje.

“We will continue to strengthen our cooperation in many fields such as trade, investment, tourism, defense industries, education and culture through new steps,” said Sentoub during the meeting.

He pointed out the importance of moving together in the face of common difficulties facing the region and the world, adding: “War, migration, terrorism and the energy crisis make it necessary to strengthen our cooperation.”

Shantoub touched on the importance of updating the free trade agreement to include the agricultural products and services sector.

He pointed out that the “Fülen” terrorist organization continues its presence in North Macedonia under various masks such as educational institutions, civil organizations and companies, stressing the importance of joint action to eliminate the “Fülen” structure in North Macedonia.

For his part, the Macedonian Prime Minister thanked Turkey for the important, long-term and continuous support and friendship for his country, which Turkey has shown to North Macedonia since independence within the framework of the partnership between the two countries in NATO, according to a statement issued by the Macedonian Prime Minister’s Office.

The statement indicated that the meeting also dealt with cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries.

Sentoub is on an official visit to North Macedonia, accompanied by a number of deputies from the “Justice and Development”, “Republican People”, “I” and “National Movement”.
