At dawn on Sunday, the Israeli army launched air strikes on separate targets in the Gaza Strip, while the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the “Hamas” movement, announced that “its air defenses responded to the Israeli fighters with surface-to-air missiles.”
Anadolu correspondent reported that the Israeli fighters launched three raids on separate targets in the center and south of the Gaza Strip, as a result of which huge explosions were heard.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health did not announce any injuries as a result of the raids, which caused material damage to the targeted sites.
For his part, the army spokesman, Avichai Adraee, said in a statement: “Israeli warplanes targeted a workshop for the manufacture of weapons belonging to the Hamas organization, which is a central location for the production of most of the movement’s rockets.”

Adraei added: “The aircraft also targeted a tunnel and a Hamas military site in the southern Gaza Strip.”
And he continued, “The attack came in response to the firing of a missile towards Israel from the Gaza Strip yesterday evening (Saturday), and the shooting of fighter jets (in the sky of the Strip).”
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced, in a statement, that “its air defenses responded at dawn today, Sunday, to the hostile Zionist warplanes in the skies of the Gaza Strip, with surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft missiles.”
“The Al-Qassam Brigades’ response to the Zionist aggression on Gaza is a direct response to the occupation’s bombing of the Strip,” Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said.
And he added in a statement: “The direct response (by Al-Qassam) confirms that it will not allow the occupation to change the equations (of the engagement), and will continue to defend its people in all its places of residence.”
He explained that Israel is expanding its “aggression against the people by bombing Gaza, after the crime of executing the Palestinian Ammar Mufleh in the city of Nablus, on Friday.”
On Saturday evening, the Israeli army announced that it had detected a rocket launch from the Gaza Strip.
The army said in a statement, seen by Anadolu Agency: “Following up on activating the alert in an open area in the northern Gaza area, the talk is about monitoring the firing of a missile from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory.”
The statement added: “No interception missiles were launched from Iron Dome.”
He stated that “life on the home front is normal as usual”.
The Israeli army did not specify where the rocket landed, and there was no immediate Palestinian comment in this regard.
