The Israeli army announced, on Tuesday, the launch of joint exercises of its air force with its American counterpart in Israel.
“Today, a series of joint air exercises for the Israeli and American armies begins,” the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said in a tweet on Twitter.
He added, “Israeli and American warplanes and refueling planes will participate in the air exercises, as they will simulate different scenarios in dealing with evolving threats in the region (which he did not clarify).”
The past months witnessed Israeli-American exercises at various levels.

At the end of his visit to the United States last week, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army Aviv Kochavi said: “In order to better deal with regional challenges, the coming period will witness a significant expansion of the scope of joint activities with the Central Command of the American army.”
He added, “At the same time, the Israeli army will continue to act intensively against the Iranian positioning in the region.”
