The Russian President and Defense Minister’s visit to the area of operations comes days after US officials announced that the United States is preparing to send the Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine, in response to an urgent request from Kyiv to provide it with powerful weapons to repel Russian attacks.
On Thursday, Russia warned the United States against supplying Ukraine with the Patriot missile defense system.
On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by angry international reactions and the imposition of “tough” economic and financial sanctions on Moscow.
