On Monday, Ukraine announced the destruction of a “strategic bridge” in the city of Melitopol, in the southern Zaporizhia region.
“The bridge connecting the city with the village of Kostyantinivka has been targeted,” Melitopol’s mayor, Ivan Fedorov, said in a post on Telegram, the local news agency Ukrinform reported.
He added that the bridge is “one of the bridges of strategic importance after the Crimean Bridge.”
Fedorov explained that the Russian forces, which he described as “occupiers,” used the bridge to transport military equipment from the eastern side of the country.
