Ivan Fedorov, mayor of the city of Melitopol, which is located in the region illegally annexed by Russia, said that Ukrainian forces carried out an attack on a military base in the city under the control of Russian forces.
And he wrote in a statement via the Telegram application, that the attack that took place last night “resulted in the death of more than 200 Russian soldiers.”
On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by angry international reactions and the imposition of “tough” economic and financial sanctions on Moscow.
