The US Federal Communications Commission has banned the approval of new telecommunications equipment from the Chinese companies “Huawei Technologies” and “ZTI”, claiming that it poses an “unacceptable risk” to the national security of the United States.
The American Al-Hurra channel quoted the committee, on Saturday, as having approved final rules banning the sale or import of equipment believed to pose a threat to the national security of the United States, in the latest crackdown on Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturers.
Huawei declined to comment, and ZTI did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the US decision.
This idea was proposed for the first time in mid-2021.
