A US official confirmed that the country is considering sending the Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine, in response to Kyiv’s request.
The official, who did not reveal his identity, stated that the US administration’s plan is nearing its end, according to what local media reported on Tuesday.
He added that Ukraine’s request will be approved before the end of this week, and the official announcement will be made on December 15.
There was no immediate statement from the White House or the US Department of Defense on the matter.

In turn, an American official (without mentioning his name) confirmed to the Anatolian correspondent the validity of the news reported in the media about sending the Patriot system to Ukraine.
He added that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan held a joint meeting today with their Ukrainian counterparts.
The US official noted that one of the main topics of the meeting was the delivery of Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
