Wet Bed Gang have just announced two unique concerts in Portugal, on the 25th of February at Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon and on the 4th of March at the Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota, in Porto. This is the debut of the hip hop group from Vialonga in the two mythical halls of the country.
The Wet Bed Gang are Kroa, Gson, Zizzy and Zara G., the spokespersons for a music that combines the strength of ancestry with the irreverence of rap that led a group of friends to become one of the biggest phenomena in music in Portugal. More than a unique sound, the Wet Bed Gang represent the mixture, the multiculturalism and the meeting between Africa and Europe.
From 2013 to the present, a lot has happened in the history of the group. From the first songs to the EP IV (2018) that gives a unique voice to each of the Wet Bed Gang members — where they mirror their talent and essence — that merges into the super hits “Devia Ir” and “Mesa Oito”, with more than 57 million views on Youtube among these.
In 2021, the group’s first album, Ngana Zambi, appears, whose true meaning, translated by Bonga, is: ‘the entity that encompasses an entire knowledge of being, of creation, of the power of originalities, of everything that is part of humanity.’
In 2023, The Gorilleyez Tour brings two shows that promise yet another claim to the Wet Bed Gang movement, introducing the Gorilleyez project, which aims to satirize the context in which the animal was historically used as a racist throwing weapon. The gorilla now arrives in his true guise, noble and emancipated, through stories set to music, honoring tradition and raising the Wet Bed Gang’s flag as high as possible.
