The Qatari national team suffered its second successive defeat in the FIFA World Cup, after falling to Senegal by three goals to one, on Friday, at Al-Thumama Stadium, in Group A competitions.

Senegal started the match with offensive pressure, which Qatar met with a late defense that lasted for the first ten minutes, before Al-Annabi created the first opportunity from a quick rebound that nullified the opponent’s defense.

Individual errors were the obvious feature in the performance of the Qatari team, which cost them a goal scored by Boulay Dia in the 41st minute, taking advantage of a wrong distraction from Khokhi Boualem.

The Qataris entered the second half, motivated by the amendment, but the shock came early with a second goal for Senegal, scored by Famara Didio with a header that hit Meshaal Barshim in the 48th minute.

The result remained unchanged until the 78th minute, in which the Qatari team scored its first World Cup goal in the history of the tournament, following a perfect cross from Ismail Mohamed, followed by Mohamed Muntari with a strong header to the right of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The goal of reducing the difference gave the Qatari team a strong motive to seek an adjustment, which made Senegal retreat to defense and rely on the counterattack weapon, which resulted in a third goal in the 84th minute, signed by Ahmedou Dienig.

With this result, the Qatari national team incurred its second loss after the first it received in the opening round against Ecuador with two goals without a response, so that “Al-Annabi” needs a football miracle to enable it to reach the second round, and it may officially leave the tournament if Ecuador draws with the Netherlands or the latter wins, in the expected match. this evening.
